About

¡Hola! I’m Ms. Vilma! I’m passionate about early childhood education and making Spanish learning fun through play, stories, music, and movement.
With over 10 years of experience in early childhood education, I created Tiny Talker’s Preschool Spanish Program to help children learn Spanish naturally through an immersive, story-based approach that makes language learning feel effortless. Even if you don’t speak Spanish yourself, my program makes it easy to introduce the language.
As a Latina educator and mother of two, I believe language learning should be joyful and immersive. I can’t wait to share this journey with you and your little one—let’s learn, laugh, and grow together, one Spanish word at a time!
¡Vamos a aprender juntos!

How Our Program Works

This program is tailored to fit every stage. Also, no need for traveling because we come to you! Tiny Talker’s brings Spanish classes directly to daycares and preschools, making it easy for families to provide their child with an immersive language experience without the extra hassle of traveling. After class, students return to their regular school day, making Tiny Talker’s a simple, stress free, and enriching addition to their routine!

Why Spanish?

Spanish is a popular and practical choice for parents, as its similarities to English (shared vocabulary and phonetic pronunciation) make it easier to learn. Its cultural and demographic relevance further reinforces its usefulness in the American context.

  • Learning a second language can improve memory, cognitive flexibility, and problem-solving skills. These skills will help your child academically and set them up for future success.
  • When we learn a second language, we’re also learning a new culture. This can promote social awareness and empathy.
about

Benefits of Learning a Second Language at an Early Age

feature
  • Learning a new language is rewarding at any age, but children benefit from learning another language at a very young age.
feature
  • Research studies particularly support starting bilingual education at the preschool level. Very young children are quick to learn and pick up a new language.
feature
  • There are also many benefits children can reap when they learn a second language.
feature
  • A number of research studies have shown that children who learned a second language at a young age demonstrated cognitive advantages, such as increased problem-solving skills and creativity.

Second Language Educational Benefits:

feature

Higher Test Scores:

  • Numerous reports have proven students who have studied a foreign language perform much better than their monolingual peers on many standardized tests, including all sections of the SAT. In fact, the 2007 College Bound Seniors report, issued by the College Board, which administers the SAT, shows significant benefits of studying a foreign language. The report shows that students with 4 or more years of foreign language study score on average 140 points higher (out of 800!) than students with half a year or less experience.
feature

Better and more advanced reading skills:

  • A study undertaken by York University in Canada suggests that bilingual children’s knowledge of a second language gives them an advantage in learning to read.
feature

Greater confidence:

  • Children are always discovering new things, and for children learning a language comes to them more naturally and tends to be fun as they learn in play type activities. This accomplishment gives them the confidence they need, as well.
feature

Gives brains a boost:

  • Research indicates that bilingualism enhances brain development in children. A study in Nature found that bilingual kids had more "grey matter," especially those exposed to a second language early. Grey matter supports information processing, memory, speech, and sensory perception.

Second Language Educational Benefits:

feature

Natural-sounding, native-like accent:

  • Children are always mimicking what they hear. They are uniquely attuned to slight differences in tone and sound. Their sensitive ears help them pick up on and duplicate the tricky sounds adults and even adolescents often stumble over. By starting early, your children can speak smoothly and confidently.
feature

Greater opportunities for college and careers:

  • Colleges now place an increasingly high value on knowledge of more than one language. As the admissions process becomes more competitive across the board, knowing a second or a third language adds a new dimension to an applicant’s resume.
feature

Bigger view of the world:

  • Traveling abroad is an experience which can benefit anyone, but being able to travel and know the language of the place you are visiting gives you confidence to experience different cultures.
feature

A Lifetime of Benefits of Learning a Second Language

  • It is clear that second language study offers many advantages for children in terms of improved communicative ability, cognitive development, and cultural awareness.

Nurturing Support

The Foundation of Raising a Happy, Bilingual Child

"The most important thing to do as a parent is to provide nurturing support. The approach that you end up taking will depend on the nature of your household, the area you live in, and the resources that are available to you. At the end of the day, focus on raising a happy child. The ability to speak two languages and the cognitive, neurological, and social benefits that come with it are an added bonus."
